submission requirements

All positions in NVA, as well as all allocated features, solos and ensembles will be decided based on the submitted audition pack. We will also be allocating voice parts from the audition videos and CV’s.

Please note: not all confirmed participants will receive a feature. All decisions are final.

1. Singing: Solo Performance

Singers must submit at least 60 seconds of vocal performance that best showcases their talent. Please don’t submit anything that is out of date, poorly filmed, bad audio quality etc.

Your best option is to film something specifically for this submission, straight to camera (self-tape style).

2. Dance / Movement

If you would like to be considered for dance features, please submit 1-2 styles of dance, 60 secs or thereabouts in length total. This can be previously filmed footage from class/performances but must have been taken within the last six months.

3. Harmony

The ability to find and hold a part independently is central to everything we make at NVA.

What to submit:

  1. Mandatory for new auditions: please submit yourself singing the one of the given parts alongside the provided melody line.

Please choose either the Sop 2 or Alto line. Do not sing the melody.

HARMONY TRACKS AND MUSIC FOUND HERE

  2. Optional - Record yourself singing a harmony part over a song of your choice - a second vocal line, a third, a counter-melody, anything that sits alongside the original. Play the track through speakers so we can hear the blend. You may also wish to harmonise with someone else.

Please do not submit a unison recording.

If harmony is a real stretch right now, there may be a future intake that's a better fit. We accept applications three times a year

TECHNICAL NOTES FOR VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

  • The singer's full face and upper body should be clearly visible

  • Please ensure your audio is clear (avoid filming in echo-y rooms)

  • Do not add filters, editing, or altered pitch to your submission
